Delete your Simura account

Simura is developed by Cubit Vault LLC. You can delete your Simura account and the data tied to it at any time, either from inside the app or by emailing us if you no longer have access to the app.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Simura and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete my data.
  3. Confirm.

Deletion happens right away, is permanent, and signs you out. It can't be undone.

Request deletion without the app

Email [email protected] from the email address on your Simura account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll check that the request comes from that address, delete your account within 30 days, and email you to confirm when it's done.

What's deleted

First we disconnect any bank connections you've linked through Plaid. Then we delete your account, along with your profile and everything tied to it:

  • Linked accounts and transactions
  • Expenses and budgets
  • Categories and transaction rules
  • Scenarios
  • Holdings and net-worth snapshots
  • Plaid connection records
  • Your activity data in the app

What's kept, and for how long

  • Plaid connection reference. If Plaid can't be reached when you delete, we keep a reference to your bank connection, with no link to you or your account, and retry until Plaid confirms the connection is revoked. Then it's removed.
  • Payment records. If you paid for a subscription, Stripe, Apple, or Google keeps those payment records under their own policies and legal requirements.
  • Messages to us. Messages you sent through "Contact the developer" aren't linked to your account, and we keep them only as long as we need to handle them.
  • Waitlist email. If you joined our waitlist, that email is kept separately from your account. Ask us and we'll remove it.
  • Crash and analytics data. Diagnostic data collected by Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics isn't linked to your account and expires under Firebase's retention settings.
